It is good news from France as Senator Francois Trucy of the French Advisory Committee on Gaming has come up with a report that has been approved by the Senate Finance Committee. One of the main issues addressed in this report is the restrictiveness of the current legislation towards online gambling. In an attempt to loosen the grip that the French government has over the online gambling sector, the report will also present a final analysis on the issue. This comes with perfect timing as the French Government is looking at ‘clause revoyure’ which comes with a deadline.
Online casino operators will find that this report is in their favor as a decent amount of time has been spent on this report which also talks about and recommends that the taxes incurred by the online gambling industry should be based on the gross gaming revenue and not on the overall turnover. Sharing of poker liquidity with other regulated countries has also been featured as a discussed issue in the report.
This could mean more online casino operation from France, thanks to the report of Senator Francois Trucy.
